..."re-calculating!"

...sometimes
~ life ~
sneaks up on you

and just when you have settled into a comfy groove
and think you have it all figured out
those north winds seem to blow out of nowhere...

you never know what those winds will bring,
you just know everything is about to change

let's be honest.

change is not always easy

BUT

i have found that it is a smoother transition
if you welcome change as opposed to running from it...

go with the flow, so to speak
and let it wash over you

it has been said that everything has a season
and that ~ life ~ is not a dress rehearsal
and should be lived to it's fullest

no. holding. back.
no. do. overs.
good. is. now.

it has also been said that there is a reason for everything
and that GOD's timing is not OUR timing.
(can i get an amen?!)

so although it may seem random to us at the time,
it will be the very best for us, in the end

a door has opened in a different direction
and the time has come
for my family and i
to move back East where our families live

we have enjoyed our 7 year adventure here in the West,
and have become more of our true, authentic selves because of it

in all honesty,
it is personally bittersweet for me.
and yes,
i do have reservations.
 dare i whisper,
dear readers,
that there is a piece of me that will stay behind
and that piece of me, will remain at the sea
waiting for my return someday...

while the rest of me gets busy and
"re-calculates"!!
(i am currently seeking a most magical top hat ~ i'm going to need one to pull this off is 12 weeks!!)
((any leads for me??!))

i am not worried
quite the opposite
i am at peace,
and i will rise to the challenge
of continuing on this wonderful journey
 we all call
 ~ life ~

i'm going home
and oh! what an adventure it is going to be!

here's to those north winds!

  3. This is beautiful, both your words and the photos. I did a similar thing ten years ago, leaving CA and the sea behind to move near family in the Midwest. Much luck to you on your new adventure!

  5. I think this post was just for me Rosemary! I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face because I just found out that our youngest son and his family may move hours away from us to PA. And they will be taking my two little granddaughters with them if they go. How dare they? lol. It is something they have wanted to do for a long time so if it happens I wish them all the happiness in the world, but I will miss them soooo much!! However ,I do know that Gods timing is perfect and if this is His will then I will cope.

I adore your photos today and pray for your safe travels in moving closer to your family!!
    Hugs~

  14. Wow, Rosemary, that is quite a change indeed. You are facing and accepting it quite well. I love your perspective on it. Hmmmm....any chance the 'East' means 'New England'? We'd love to have you up here and there's plenty of ocean for you.
I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing more.

  15. I really love this inspiring post. I am going through a lot of change right now, and it's not easy at all for me. In fact, everyone seems to be taking it well...except for me. Not really sure quite why {I'm usually really good about these kinds of things}, maybe because like you said, "I'm running from it?" Something about removing someone from their "comfort zone," I suppose...At any rate, I wish you all the best in your change, and I'm glad to have read this - it makes my day a little brighter. ;)

    Best,
    Jessie
