...cashmere roses...

...ahhhh
cashmere....

soft.
warm.
beautiful.

uuuhhhmmmm ~ yes please!

hello dear readers!
i am so happy you are here:)

today,
i'd like to show you a few pretties i have been making...
out of thrift store cashmere sweaters ~
yep!
you read that correctly
secondhand cashmere sweaters!!
you know the ones ~
 usually when you find them,
they have moth holes in them
or
they have shrunk:(
what a shame.
i always think,
isn't there anything i can make with these?
oh! what to do?!?

some of you may recall my falalalala coat

my dear mom adored it,
but it was way tooo long for her
so for christmas this year,
i made her this one instead...

we found this wide collar wool coat at target (who knew?!)
LOVE the driftwood color!
and then,

well then,
i made a few of these beauties...
did i say a few?!
ha!!

each cashmere rose is completely made by hand
and
has a vintage rhinestone montee sewn to the center

and when she puts the wide collar up ~
omgeeeee,
oh-sssoooooo-beau-ti-ful!!

i adore how it turned out
~ and,
so did she:)

bonus score,
i was so delighted to find a mohair sweater
the same color as the coat

so i could make these matching arm warmers
from the sleeves...

...soft and warm

delicate and airy...

after the holidays,
crazy as it may seem ~
my creative muse was still in the cashmere rose mode

as lovely as those roses were,
they were much too small for what i had envisioned next

so ~
i came up with these beauties...

i call them
 ~ cashmere cupcake roses ~
because they remind me of sugar flowers on a cake!

i combined techniques from my faux silk "vintage garden rose pins"
and my cashmere ones...
love, Love, LOVE how they turned out!!

this one is
~ rosewater dream ~

it is a nude blush color
with just a hint of silver sparkle...
blush lace tail

it looks soooo romantic around your neck!

i made one for my mom for valentine's,
and as soon as i got it done,
one of my friends saw it and wanted one,
and then another...
and another!!

so i thought perhaps,
i had better share the love,
as maybe one of you may want one too...

~rosewater dream is reserved for dear Shannon's neck~

i currently have three two one available
not to worry if your heart desired one

ozma of odds fabric label sewn to them

~ first blush ~

with a white lace tail
or

~ first blush is reserved for dear Tanya's neck ~

with a blush lace tail
your choice.

first blush is a most lovely soft pink color...

like a rose bouquet neck adornment!

it is so hard to choose my favorite,
each time i finish one,
i exclaim
"oh, now this one is my favorite!"

and for you sisters of the sea,
here is
~la mer~

~la mer is reserved for dear Margaret's neck~

a heather grey with sea blue
this one also has just a touch of silver sparkle,
like the beautiful sea:)
soft grey jersey tails

sparkle, sparkle...

could you imagine strolling along the coast with this on?!?

a mermaid may flip out of the sea, and try to enchant you for it!!!
