...autumn's entrance

...happy autumn dear readers!

it has now officially arrived
and i have been decorating my front entrance
in the shades that have been inspiring me as of late

can you guess what those colors might be...

hhhhmmmmm
i wonder!!

yes,
it. is. true.
and there is no escaping it ~

i have fairytale sea pumpkins on my mind!

when i was designing my autumn entrance
my inspiration started with this hand painted sign
from our creatively inspired Dore of Burlap Luxe!

you may remember this shelter sign from this post

since then,
i have completely and utterly fallen in love with Dore's soulful world of soft washed blue-greys!

my design style is also influenced by that of

so much so,
i have ordered some Annie Sloan chalk paint to wash my interior world in
but
that is for another post!

to this shelter sign,
i have added a few of my own adornments
to make it my own:

lace, rhinestones, a bejeweled cross, sea silk ribbon and a feather
(they are so magical, wouldn't you agree?)

now for the entry table top
(this is the very first piece i shall transform with the AS paint!!)

i wanted a fairytale romance feel...

so i gathered a few pretties
and started to play!

naturally,
there is a fairytale sea pumpkin

...or two
(tee,hee!)

a romantic rose mirror
to reflect the sun
 or moon light :)

and silkened, ballerina wrapped candle sticks
which have adorned frills on top!

they are comprised of sea silk ribbons,
lace and vintage montee rhinestones

i will never have to light these
as they already sparkle!!

magical ~ no??!

for the bottom of my table ~
a crochet doily, chicken wire dome and silver stand
and an enchanting mercury glass pumpkin
were all that was needed

my cement swan was filled with variegated hydrangea's

i adore how she is dressed for the cooler autumn days!

a complete view

at the top of my shelter sign
i have placed some long lavender stems.
my sea pumpkins also have lavender added to them
so
as soon as you walk through the front door
it smells lovely!

i am delighted with my autumn fairytale entrance
and hope you were inspired to display a little
fairytale magic in your home!

  2. I love your Autumnal Welcome and your colours are divine and so soft and romantic.

You have such a beautiful entrance - I foresee only one problem in that your guests will linger way too long in vestibule before departing! I would.

  13. Awwwwww! Sigh!
Rosemary you are way to beautifully kind to add apart of my art in your peaceful entry! A beautiful shelter place to rest ones heart on :)

Thank you for such a huge honor, your loveliness did not need my sign included to finish the rooms beauty but so happy it was.

Rosemary I love all the added embellishments you added to the chain and really made the sign truly unique to your own style. Remember the gifted silks you washed ashore my way? and the tages, well I am looking towards the holidays with excitement when I am able to add it to my tree this year :)

Love the pumpkins, my thought of inspiring holiday pumpkins washed in gray over here as well.

    Have a beautiful grey/gray! week...
thank you for inspiring me, as well as all who will visit.
    Cheers to your soulful beauty.
    xoxo

  21. You are simply amazing. Such a gorgeous vignette of lovely pumpkies and candles. Thank you so much for your compliment. To say that I influence YOU is the most flattering thing I've ever read... because you inspire ME. I love that we've connected and have been chatting more lately. I'm so happy you have one of our friend Dore's beautiful signs too and I can't think of a better starting point for Fall decor inspiration. You both have such creative gifts. Can't wait to see how you transform that little table. I was hopping on to let you know that Pure White is now available at Classic Wall Finishes!!! The French Linen is gorgeous too.

  22. Oh Rosemary,
It's all gorgeous. Love your sea pumpkins and all the dreaminess you create. I can't wait for cool weather, just waiting for those crisp mornings, hope it won't be long. I hear we may get rain here on Sunday but it's in the high 90s today.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  23. Oh, Rosemary....once again you create a thing of incredible beauty! What a beautiful sight to see when entering your sweet home! Love the whole idea of "sea pumpkins" and the way you make everything look so feminine and charming. I, too, am inspired by Dore and Jami's love of grays in decor. And I'm doing everything in my power to make my home look as much JDA as possible. :)
