~ fallen petals ~
fallen petals
shriveling in the light
even unattached
you smell wonderful
your soft colors still delight!
pretty petals ~
i've reserved a special jar for you
to place upon my shelf
so your beauty may still shine through...
and though you may be shrinking
please know
that each time i cast a gaze your way
i will see you in all your glory
blooming ever so lovely for those very short lived days...
ah yes,
beautiful fallen petals
i truly appreciate your style!
you appear even more graceful
through the glass that i peer through,
as i sit and reflect
and wonder,
...does my beauty shine through too??
~
reflective poetry be me...
enjoy your days my dear ones!!

ReplyDeleteLovely poem! I save fallen petals too. They are in mason jars, like yours. I also dye fabric with them. just did some petunias, muslin came out a lovely rose color and the sheer fabric a dusty gray. Lots of fun.
